CONTACT GROUP PUTTING FINISHING TOUCHES TO BOSNIA PEACE PLAN

GEENVA, July 4 (Hina) - Members of the five-nation contact group of Britain, France, Germany, Russia and the United States met in Geneva on Monday to put the finishing touches to their proposal for the territorial organization of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The proposal is based on the territorial split-up of Bosnia- Herzegovina, with 51 percent of territory going to the Moslem-Croat federation and 49 percent to the Bosnian Serbs who now hold 70 percent of the country under occupation. The contact group's proposal has been announced as an ultimatum, and the party which rejects it will face sanctions. The proposal will be discussed in Geneva Tuesday morning by political directors of the foreign ministries of the five nations, and in the afternoon foreign ministers Douglas Hurd, Alain Juppe, Klaus Kinkel, Andrei Kozyrev and Warren Christopher will meet in the Russian mission at the UN headquarters. Diplomats announced that the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina would be represented by President of the Federation Kresimir Zubak and Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic. President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovic is also expected to arrive. At what level the Bosnian Serbs would be represented is still not known after their leader Radovan Karadzic negatively responded to the proposal by the contact group. 041231 MET jul 94
