GENEVA, May 14 (Hina) - U.S. State Secretary Warren Christopher and
Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic held talks today in the U.S.
Embassy in Geneva.
Minister Granic informed his host of the developments in the
negotiations with Serbs from the temporarily occupied areas of
Croatia. Minister Granic expressed dissatisfaction with the
implementation of the Zagreb cease-fire signed on 29 March 1994.
He emphasized that Croatia would be persistent in diplomatic
endeavours to seek a solution to the issue.
U.S. State Secretary backed Croatia in such efforts and
reiterated that the U.S.A. also supported the territorial integrity
of the Republic of Croatia. The U.S. side expressed its readiness
to cooperate with Croatia in the process of reintegration of UNPAs.
He also said that the U.S.A. recommended Croatia to the
International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to offer assistance
in the reconstruction and development of Croatia.
Minister Granic delivered Croatian President Tudjman's letter
to Christopher for U.S. President Bill Clinton.
