GENEVA, May 14 (Hina) - Bosnian Croat and Moslem representatives
Kresimir Zubak and Haris Silajdzic solemnly confirmed the Vienna
Agreements on the canton delimitation of the Croat-Moslem
federation and the appointment of senior state officials in Geneva
on Saturday.
The ceremony was attended by Croatian Foreign Minister Mate
Granic and US Secretary of State Warren Christopher.
In a brief statement to the press, Christopher said the
Washington and Vienna agreements provided a sound basis for
regional cooperation between the future Federation and the Republic
of Croatia, with full support of the United States.
Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic said the establishment
of the Federation was an important step toward an integral and just
peace. He expressed the hope that "the ghosts of the past would be
laid and the fascist aggression against Bosnia-Herzegovina
efficiently stopped with the assistance of the international
community and particularly the United States."
Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic explained that Croatia
had taken part in the negotiations as the future confederal
partner. He said the next thing to be solved was the reintegration
of the UNPAs into the constitutional system of the Republic of
Croatia and the restoration of a just peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Bosnian Croat representative Kresimir Zubak said the two
victims of the aggression against Bosnia-Herzegovina were willing
to negotiate with the third side.
