BONN, May 6 (Hina) - On the initiative of the Islamic Council for
Europe, a delegation of Croatia and 15 ambassadors of Islamic
countries met for talks in Bonn on Thursday.
The meeting was motivated by the Council's wish to extend
assistance to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina at political, economic
and humanitarian levels.
The Croatian delegation, led by Minister Zlatko Matesa, spoke
of the economic and political situation in Croatia and relations
with Bosnia-Herzegovina in the light of the Washington agreement.
Representatives of Qatar, Malaysia, Palestine, Turkey, Saudi
Arabia, Bangladesh, Arab League, Iran, Iraq and other countries of
the Islamic Council issued a statement after the meeting in which
they urged the international community and the UN Security Council
to efficiently implement all resolutions relative to a peaceful
settlement of the conflict and reintegration of occupied
territories. The Islamic Council voiced full support to the
territorial integrity of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and
welcomed the agreements on a federation and the preliminary
agreement on a confederation between the two states, the statement
said.
