BELGRADE, Mar 16 (Hina) - According to Radio Beograd, Russian
special envoy Vitalij Churkin spoke today in Belgrade separately
with "president" of the self-proclaimed Serb republic in Croatia
Milan Martic and the Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic.
After the talk with Milan Martic, Churkin said a meeting
between Serb representatives from UNPAs and regular Croatian
authorities was announced for March 22 in Zagreb, "agreed on the
Russian initiative".
Radio Beograd quoted Churkin's statement in which he said that
"it is expected that an agreement will be achieved on the cessation
of all armed and other hostilities".
"America is more engaged on the Croat-Muslim, and we would
engage on the Croat-Serb agreement", said Churkin stressing that
Moscow and Washington informed each other regularly on their
efforts in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, Radio Beograd
reported.
Churkin announced he was leaving for Washington tomorrow, the
source said.
