CROATS AND MOSLEMS EXPECTED TO REACH AGREEMENT IN WASHINGTON

WASHINGTON, March 1 (Hina) - Four-day intensive negotiations between Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic and Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic are expected to end today in agreement on key elements relative to the territorial and political organization of Bosnia-Herzegovina, particularly its Croat and Moslem communities, as well as relations between the future Bosnia- Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia. Diplomats in Washington announced that after this morning's talks at the State Department, Granic and Silajdzic would make a joint statement and initial an agreement in principle. State Department spokesman Michael McCurry said the talks focused on the organization of a "binational" community, and stressed that the Bosnian Serbs would be actively included in the negotiations after the Croats and Moslems reached agreement. In the afternoon, the Croatian foreign minister is scheduled to leave Washington for New York where he may meet with representatives of several UN Security Council member states. 011547 MET mar 94
