ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - A panel titled "Usora - a Beleaguered
Croatian Enclave," organised by the Croatian Victimological
Society, was held on Saturday in Zagreb.
President of the Victimological Society Dr. Zvonimir Separovic
informed the audience that Usora (northern Bosnia, 90 km N. of
Sarajevo) has been under Serb siege for 20 months, forgotten by the
Croatian and the international public.
Some 18,000 inhabitants have received no relief aid for almost
a year. Humanitarian organisations have collected 250 tonnes of
aid, but there has been no way to deliver it to the population.
Artillery attacks on Usora have increased in intensity in the past
few days, so there are more casualties among the civilian
population than among the defenders, said the participants.
Refugees from occupied villages testified about war-crimes
committed by Serb forces in the area.
The participants will meet today with UNHCR representatives to
discuss the delivery of relief aid to Usora.
