MOSTAR, Feb 6 (Hina/HABENA) - Newly-appointed U.N. Force Commander
to Bosnia-Herzegovina, General Michael Rose with his assistants
visited Mostar on Saturday where he met the senior officials of the
government of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna (HR HB), stated
the information office of this government.
General Rose held talks with the prime minister of the HR
HB's government, Jadranko Prlic who gave promise that the Croatian
Defence Council (HVO) would continue in the cooperation with
UNPROFOR during its mandate. Prlic reiterated the commitment of the
HR HB to seeking a peace solution to the B-H crisis. He stressed
that the Croatian side was supporting all humanitarian activities.
Thus 570 humanitarian convoys had passed through the territory of
Herzeg-Bosnia in last fourth months, according to Prlic. He warned
that at the same time the Croatian enclaves under siege had
received no relief aid, neither were they proclaimed to be
protected areas.
At this meeting with General Rose Perica Jukic, the defence
minister of the HR HB, asserted that no regular members of the
Croatian Army were included into the units of the Croatian Defence
Council (HVO).
General Rose informed his interlocutors of the tasks assumed
by the UNPROFOR during its mandate in B-H, emphasizing especially
the task to provide secure conditions for dispatching humanitarian
aid to all the parts of B-H, said the statement of the information
office of the HR HB's government.
