ZAGREB, Feb 17 (Hina) - At the second day of his private visit to
Croatia, the former president of the Republic of Italy, Senator
Francesco Cossiga, and the President of the Republic of Croatia, Dr
Franjo Tudjman, visited today the northern Croatia ("Hrvatsko
Zagorje). They were received by the County-Prefect of County of
Zagorje-Krapina, Dr Franjo Kajfes, in the Castle of Miljan.
During this visit Senator Cossiga expressed his great
understanding for Croatia's efforts aimed at a peace settlement to
the crisis on this entire region, especially in these crucial
moments. He once more expressed his readiness to support the peace
process. Francesco Cossiga was the first premier of a state who
officially visited the internationally recognized the Republic of
Croatia, and he proved to be its sincere friend in the endeavours
of Croatia to be internationally recognized. Therefore Cossiga was
recently bestowed by Croatia's highest order of the King Tomislav,
by the decree of the President Tudjman.
