VITEZ, Feb 17 (Hina) - An UNHCR high official, Larry Hollingworth,
and the Commander of the British UNPROFOR battalion, Brigadier
Peter Williams visited on Thursday the Headquarters of the Croatian
Defence Council (HVO) of Vitez (Central Bosnia). During their talks
with the HVO commander, Tihomir Blaskic, Hollingworth and Brigadier
Williams discussed several issues of the interest for the two
sides.
The UNHCR official and Brigadier Williams also announced an
UNHCR humanitarian convoy for the inhabitants of the areas of Zepce
and Maglaj (some 120 kilometres north of Sarajevo) as well as the
forthcoming evacuation of 17 wounded from the Franciscan Hospital
of Nova Bila (near Vitez). The wounded will be evacuated together
with their families, and 14 of them in Italy, two to the U.S.A. and
1 in Denmark. Assistance was also promised in reconstruction of
the plumbing in the town of Novi Travnik (Central Bosnia), damaged
in the shelling of the Moslem-led Bosnian Army.
