VIENNA, Jan 4 (Hina) - Negotiations on the implementation of a
joint Geneva statement on the peaceful settlement of the Bosnian
conflict, signed by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and President
of the Bosnian Presidency Alija Izetbegovic in September 1993,
began in Vienna on Tuesday afternoon.
The talks will focus on halting of the conflict between Moslems
and Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, humanitarian aid delivery and
territorial demarcation between Croat and Moslem unions in Bosnia-
Herzegovina. The status of the town of Mostar will be also
discussed, as well as the Moslem request for access to the sea.
A Croatian delegation is led by Croatian Deputy Prime and Foreign
Minister Mate Granic. Minister in the Government of the Croatian
Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia Mile Akmadzic, Croatian Ambassadors to
CSCE and Turkey Darko Bekic and Hidajet Biscevic are also members
of the delegation.
A delegation of the Bosnian Government from Sarajevo is led by
Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic. Member of the Bosnian Presidency
Ivo Komsic is among seven members of the delegation.
Co-Chairmen of the International Conference on the Former
Yugoslavia David Owen and Thorwald Stoltenberg are in Vienna and it
is expected that they could participate in the talks also.
