ZAGREB, May 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received representatives of the Commission on Monetary System and
Currency Design.
Commission member Dalibor Brozovic spoke to reporters after
the meeting.
"The President was interested in some historical aspects of
the Croatian currency, as we are celebrating the first anniversary
of the kuna next week," Brozovic said.
"He was also interested in monetary and banking matters, the
impending bank rehabilitation and its impact on the money market,
as well as the settlement of liabilities to foreign creditors," he
said.
He mentioned that the Commission would also celebrate its
first anniversary next week.
"I think the commission has performed its task very well. The
Croatian currency has gained respect not only as a firm, stable and
solid currency but also because of its technically and artistically
exquisite design," he said.
