SARAJEVO, May 24 (Hina) - Around 80 detonations were registered in
Sarajevo by noon today, UN spokesman Gy Vinnet said.
Two French UN peacekeepers were wounded by shrapnel when a
mortar shell hit a UN base near the central railway station. Their
lives were not in danger.
Another French soldier was wounded in another part of the city
this morning.
In the afternoon, Serb forces opened occasional mortar fire on
the Grdonje district of north Sarajevo, UN military observers
reported.
Vinnet said that this morning Serb troops raided UN-guarded
heavy weapons depots in the village of Osijek and Sarajevo's suburb
of Ilidza, firing one mortar shell from each site.
Vinnet was unable to specify the target of these attacks.
