CROATIAN PARLIAMENT LOWER HOUSE CONTINUES SESSION

ZAGREB, May 24 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's House of Representatives this morning continued its session with a debate on draft amendments to the law on the sale of socially-owned apartments. Deputies were to discuss a dozen items on the agenda, including the proposed rules of procedure. Draft amendments to the law on the sale of socially-owned apartments, which apply to the apartments formerly owned by the Yugoslav army and now under jurisdiction of the Croatian Ministry of Defence, were expounded by Housing Minister Marina Dropulic- Matulovic and Deputy Defence Minister Josip Juras. Dropulic said that the amended law would make it possible for disabled war veterans and families of the dead, imprisoned and missing Croatian defenders to buy the apartments they had been given for temporary use. The law would also regulate the division of funds obtained from the sale of the apartments - 55 percent would go to the national budget and 45 percent to municipal budgets.
