SARAJEVO, May 20 (Hina) - The Bosnian Parliament is convening in
Sarajevo today to discuss the current military and political
situation.
The agenda includes a report by the President of the
Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic, on the Presidency's work since the
beginning of the war.
Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic is to submit a report on the
activities of his Government in the past four months.
The ruling Moslem SDA (Party of Democratic Action) has
announced its intention to table a motion for amending the
Constitution. The proposed amendment provides a wartime procedure
for the election of the President of the Presidency - by the
Parliament, instead of the Presidency.
According to the Speaker, Miro Lazovic, the motion has not
been officially tabled and won't be included in this session's
agenda.
The SDA announcement is vigorously opposed by Opposition
parties.
