ZAGREB, May 19 (Hina) - The Center for human rights of detained and
missing persons of Croatia and their families today renewed its
request to International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to
clarify the fate of 296 people that former Yugoslav army (JNA) had
taken from Vukovar hospital in November 1991.
At least one person, of those who could have information about
them, has been known. It was a JNA officer (major at the time)
Veselin Sljivancanin, and the Center proposed to ICRC to contact
him.
The Center proposed to ICRC to form a delegation of
independent representatives who would deliver family messages to
Sljivancanin, and ask the officer about detainees' fate.
