NEW CONTACT GROUP'S PROPOSAL CONTAINS ONLY RECOGNITION OF BOSNIA

WASHINGTON, April 13 (Hina) - A proposal of the Contact Group submitted to Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic in Belgrade on Tuesday asked from Milosevic to recognize Bosnia-Herzegovina in exchange for the limited easing of sanction, an official of the United States said in Washington on Thursday. The official, who wanted not to be named, said the proposal did not contain the recognition of other States established in the former Yugoslavia, although the US Administration continues to support the necessity of Milosevic's recognition of the other countries. A spokesman for the US State Department, Nicholas Burns, told a regular press conference on Thursday that Milosevic had not yet given a final answer to the Contact Group's proposal.
