BOSNIAN ARMY GAINS GROUND ON MT VLASIC, UNPROFOR CONFIRMS

SARAJEVO, March 30 (Hina) - Bosnian army forces seized the Opaljenik peak and the TV transmitter on Mt Vlasic in central Bosnia, the UNPROFOR in Sarajevo told reporters today. UNPROFOR military spokesman, Herve Gourmelon, said that Bosnian army had made "significant advances" in the past few days, according to as yet unconfirmed reports. Reporters were shown a map with new separation lines between Bosnian Government and Serb forces on Mt Vlasic. The newly- liberated territory stretches over several dozen square kms. The fighting in the area continued but was not as intense as in the past few days, because of snow and low temperature. A British armoured carrier came under small-arms fire.
