CROATIAN REAR ADMIRAL DOMAZET ON SERBIAN GOALS

ZAGREB, March 29 (Hina) - Military envoys from the diplomatic and military corps, accredited in Croatia, visited the Croatian Defence Ministry on Wednesday. The head of the Defence Ministry's policy department, Brigadier Ivan Tolj, told the guests that Croatia always supported and opted for the peaceful settlement to the occupied areas. He said such Croatian endeavors were in line with the international community's efforts, a statement from the Ministry read. The head of the Ministry's information department, Rear Admiral Davor Domazet, informed the guests of the current situation on the fronts in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. He also spoke of possible developments in the future. Rear Admiral Domazet believed that the balance between the armed forces was continuously changing to the detriment of Serbs. This caused, Domazet held, that Serbian policies were being changed, and their goals reduced as well. The recent developments on Bosnian fronts and continuous breaches of the Zagreb ceasefire agreement, along with the concentration of the so-called Army of Yugoslavia (AJ) forces particularly in UNPA Sector East and the specific re-organization of the 'AJ' troops, show that Serbia has probably reduced its political goals to the full control of the flow of the Danube and Drina rivers, or in other words, to the permanent occupation of the eastern areas of Croatia and Bosnia- Herzegovina. Thus, one can conclude that even a minor action in these areas, launched by any of the warring sides, would cause a big war. In this context "western fronts" would serve just for maintaining tension and destabilizing other Croatian areas, according to the statement on Domazet's speech to the guests.
