ZUBAK'S LETTERS ON GENERAL SANTIC'S ABDUCTION

MOSTAR, March 11 (Hina) - President of the Federation of Bosnia- Herzegovina, Kresimir Zubak, today sent a protest letter to Vice President of the Bosnian Federation, Ejup Ganic, and the chief commander of the Bosnian Army, General Rasim Delic, because of the disappearance of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) General, Vlado Santic, and reports on his abduction by military police of the Bosnian Army's Fifth Corps. In the letter Zubak expressed hope that they could correctly assess negative effects of the incident, while the Bosnian Croat and Moslem officials were carrying out intensive activities aimed at implementing the Washington Accords and the Constitution of the Bosnian Federation. Such an act occurred after a series of their meetings and agreements from Munich, Zagreb and the latest accord in Bonn where they showed not only their good will but also reached constructive agreement and made important steps forward in creating favourable conditions for peace in the area, read the letter, carried by the HABENA Herzeg-Bosnian news agency. Such an act was directed against the fundamental interests of the Moslem and Croat peoples in Bosnia, according to the letter. Zubak stressed in the letter that "We are surprised and flabbergasted at the act of arresting the HVO General Vlado Santic," and added that he asked Ganic and Gen. Delic to investigate into the incident and take all necessary measures as to prevent its reflection on the security of the Croatian inhabitants in the Bihac area as well as on the Bihac defence from the mutual enemy. Zubak sent another letter to the Bihac HVO headquarters. "We are outraged at reports that the HVO General Vlado Santic has been arrested. Because of the incident I have lodged severe protest with Moslem authorities and requested energetic measures aimed at preventing assaults on the integrity of HVO officials," Zubak said in the letter, adding that he warned of danger that such an act could reflect on the results of implementing the achieved political agreements.
