SARAJEVO, March 6 (Hina) - Severe artillery fighting and small-arms
fire exchange flared today on the fronts of Bihac and Velika
Kladusa, western Bosnia.
A UN spokesman in Sarajevo said UN military observers had
counted 288 tank and mortar detonations around Velika Kladusa last
night.
UN peacekeepers were still not allowed to reach the
confrontation line near Mala Kladusa, and therefore they could not
tell whether the first lines had been changed during the recent
clashes.
In the Bihac "safe area" 36 detonations were recorded in the
last 24 hours.
The UN spokesman said two tank rounds, fired from Serb
positions Pritocki Grabez, had hit the Bihac center nearby the UN
Bangladeshi headquarters at about 04:00 p.m. Sunday wounding two
civilians.
The investigation into the Serb attack on the Bihac downtown
last Saturday showed that three or four 122 mm shells which hit the
town, had been fired from Serb positions in Ripce.
The Bosanska Krupa front was relatively quiet with six
detonations registered.
