SARAJEVO, March 4 (Hina) - Four Dutch UNPROFOR troops were
yesterday waylaid and robbed on a road linking Sarajevo city and
the airport, the UN in Sarajevo said today.
Bosnian Serb troops threw the Dutch soldiers out, helped
themselves to their weapons and flak jackets and drove away in
their car, leaving them to leg it to Sarajevo.
This, however, was not the only attack on UN troops in
Sarajevo yesterday.
Serb troops stationed in Grbavica opened fire at a Danish
armoured carrier in the vicinity of the Holiday Inn hotel. The crew
responded by opening heavy machine-gun fire at the attackers.
Serb snipers yesterday wounded three civilians near the
Holiday Inn hotel. One of them was shot in the abdomen and another
in the jaw, and their lives are in danger.
A French peace-keeper shot by a Serb sniper yesterday was
recovering well, the UN said, adding that his life had been saved
only thanks to his helmet.
