ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - The front page of today's VJESNIK carries
an article headlined "Strong Cooperation Between Croatia and
Turkey" reporting on Turkish President Suleyman Demirel's courtesy
visit to Croatia.
The daily also reports on presidents Tudjman and Demirel's
talks in an article headlined "Cancelling the UNPROFOR Mandate Does
Not Mean War".
Vjesnik includes a report on Croatian Foreign Minister, Mate
Granic's, address in Geneva to the UN Commission for Human Rights.
"Croatia in the European Council by Summer?" is the headline
of an article on European Council parliament's human rights sub-
committee session which was held in Zagreb.
The paper on its front page warns of the today's tax report
deadline.
Vjesnik's Paris correspondent reports on US engagements in
Croatia saying "The French media is counting less and less on
Croatia changing its mind on the UNPROFOR mandate decision, and is
concentrating more on what is to be done now, and the myth of an
unbeatable Serbia is slowly breaking."
The other Zagreb-based daily, VECERNJI LIST, in a comment
piece discusses the 'new European concept' and its similarities to
Europe in 1915 at the Vienna. The article examines the interests of
some European countries in the former Yugoslavia.
