MOSTAR, Feb 8 (Hina) - Progress was made towards establishing a
joint Moslem-Croat police force in Mostar, the head of a West
European Union delegation, Moraes Cabral, told a press conference
in Mostar today.
As long as a joint police force was not set up, the situation
in Mostar would remain shaky, Cabral said.
France's coordinator for Mostar, Ambassador Georges Marie
Chenu, said that the European Union was determined to make the
Mostar project a success.
"We can't accept an argument that you have to wait for the
Bosnian Federation to be established because in other parts of the
Federation you don't have support as in Mostar," Chenu said.
He stressed that Mostar was a model for the Federation.
