SARAJEVO, Feb 7 (Hina) - Representatives of Olympic cities which
would assist in the reconstruction of Sarajevo will hold a meeting
in Innsbruck, Austria, in the next few months, Sarajevo Mayor Tarik
Kupusovic said today.
The idea to organise such a conference was floated by the
Innsbruck Mayor during his recent visit to Sarajevo to attend the
celbration of the 1000th day of the city's resistance to Serb
aggression.
Speaking at a press conference called to mark the 11th
anniversary of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo, Kupusovic said IOC
(International Olympic Committee) President Juan Antonio Samaranch
recently sent him a letter in which he expressed solidarity with
Sarajevans and pledged assistance in the reconstruction of damaged
Olympic facilities.
According to Olympic Centre Director, Muhamed Zlatar, the
total damage caused to Sarajevo's olympic facilities has been
assessed at DEM 100 million.
