NOVSKA, Feb 1 (Hina) - Croatian Railways officials and local Serb
representatives today met at a UN Jordanian Battalion base near
Novska to discuss the repair of the Novska-Nova Gradiska railway
line.
A recent aerial inspection of a stretch of the railway running
through UN Sector West, has shown that the railway had suffered
substantial damage.
Croatian negotiator Kresimir Novak described the talks as
constructive and said that the railway line first needed to be
disposed of mines and thoroughly inspected and then repair works
should begin. No deadlines were set.
The two delegations were expected to reconvene at the same
place next Thursday.
