GENEVA, Feb 1 (Hina) - The co-chairmen of the International
Conference on Former Yugoslavia, Lord David Owen and Thorvald
Stoltenberg are to travel today to Belgrade and Zagreb to talk to
Presidents Tudjman and Milosevic on the resolution of the political
situation in Croatia and the continuation of talks on the peaceful
reintegration of the occupied areas.
Together with the Zagreb-four representatives, the co-chairman
will explore the possibilities of continuing the talks between the
Croatian authorities and local Serbs in the light of Croatia's
decision to end the UNPROFOR mandate.
The co-chairmen also commented on yesterday's meeting of the
International Conference Steering Committee.
The Committee discussed the implementation of the Dec 2
Economic Agreement between the Croatian Government and Knin Serbs,
the efforts of the Bosnia Contact Group, and the supervision of the
Drina border.
Also discussed was a draft succession agreement that was being
prepared by an international expert group.
Owen and Stoltenberg supported French Foreign Minister Juppe's
proposal for setting up yet another international conference on
former Yugoslavia, chaired by French President Miterrand and UN
Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali.
