GENEVA, Jan 31 (Hina) - The General Council of the World Trade
Organisation (WTO) today unanimously decided to give Croatia the
status of observer of this important multi-lateral organisation.
The decision came at a WTO General Council session today in
Geneva. It means that Croatia will be able to participate in all
WTO ministerial conferences, General Council sessions and working
groups.
An aide to Croatia's permanent mission to the UN in Geneva,
Aleksandar Heina, said Croatia could be admitted as a full WTO
member by the end of the year, in line with the usual procedure.
