ZAGREB, Jan 13 (Hina) - Croatia's war veterans and the Zagreb
association of war veterans supported the decision to end the
mandate of UNPROFOR in Croatia.
They sent a letter to Croatian President Franjo Tudjman in
which they expressed satisfaction with such a decision, since the
present situation and the activities of UNPROFOR were humiliating
and unbearable for all citizens of Croatia and for war veterans,
the letter said.
The veterans said they especially appreciated President
Tudjman's efforts to end in a peaceful way the imposed tragedy and
Serbian aggression.
The association of the antifascist soldiers of Croatia
welcomed Croatian President Tudjman's decision, which shows efforts
aimed at the peaceful reintegration of UNPAs into Croatia's
constitutional and legal system.
In a statement this association called on UNPA war veterans
from the antifascist struggle in WW II to support fully the
endeavors by Croatian and world political factors aimed at the
peaceful reintegration and settlement to the war conflict.
The decision by President Tudjman to terminate the UNPROFOR
mandate was supported today by the Croatian trade union of cultural
workers.
The Croatian teachers trade union appealed on other trade
unions for cancelling all activities relating to strikes until 31
March, and, thus, helping the Croatian leadership to solve the
problem of the occupied areas.
