ZAGREB, Jan 5 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received Croatian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to
UNESCO, Vesna Girardi-Jurkic.
President Tudjman handed Girardi-Jurkic a letter of
credential.
They considered issues Croatia had raised at UNESCO, such as
the imminent destruction of the 'Plitvice Lakes' National Park, in
the occupied areas (UNPA Sector North) - and the preservation of
Dubrovnik's cultural heritage which was severely damaged during
Serb aggression on Croatia.
Ambassador Girardi-Jurkic said she would continue to promote
Croatia's cause as well as the interests of the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
