The trees never lived to see the morning light, president of
the Zenica municipal committee of the Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ), Josip Pojavnik said, adding that it was a message to the
remaining 10,000 Croats (out of 25,000) in Zenica that the Catholic
Christmas holiday could not be celebrated in the town even
symbolically.
"We shall protest to the Moslem authorities, but I do not
believe that it will do any good. Moreover, I believe that even
Moslem authorities in the town shrink from open confrontations with
Moslem extremists," Pojavnik added.
