ZAGREB, Dec 12 (Hina) - Deputies to the Croatian Parliament's House
of Representatives on Thursday expressed full support to the final
bill regulating the rights of war veterans and their families.
In drafting the bill, the government had followed guidelines
proposed by the President of the Republic that all justifiable
demands by war veterans should be adopted, taking into account
available funds, Deputy Prime Minister Ljerka Mintas-Hodak said.
According to Mintas-Hodak, next year's budget set aside about
two billion kunas for payments to veterans and families of fallen
defenders and six million kuna for resolving their housing
problems.
On behalf of the parliamentary committee for war veterans,
Janko Bobetko said Croatia had over 38,000 victims of war. There
were 23,264 invalids and over 40,000 unemployed demobbed soldiers,
