ZAGREB, Dec 9 (Hina) - The Croatian Supreme Court on Monday ruled
that the railwaymen's strike was unlawful, prohibiting its further
continuation.
The strike was initiated by the Railway Workers' Union on
November 28.
The Croatian Railways management had sued workers over their
non-compliance with a Transport Ministry decision on train services
that should be maintained during the strike.
A three-member panel of judges, presided by Vjera Delic, ruled
in favour of the plaintiff on the grounds that the Ministry
decision was binding for the defendant regardless of circumstances.
The Union had disobeyed the decision invoking management's
allegedly illegal acts.
