ZAGREB, 6 Dec (Hina) - The Croatian Railway Workers' Union would
respect the decision of the Supreme Court on a complaint filed by
the Croatian Railways (HZ) management, which demanded that the
strike of the Railway Workers' Union, which started on 28 November,
be declared illegal, Union representatives told a press conference
on Friday.
The Supreme Court is to decide on the HZ management complaint
on Monday, 9 December.
'We hold that our strike is legal, but if the Supreme Court
declares it illegal, we will stop it', the Union's President Zlatko
Pavletic said.
The situation in railway transport is still unchanged.
Passenger trains are running regularly, while freight transport is
still suspended, except for trains serving the Croatian army and
Implementation Force (IFOR). The situation will probably remain
unchanged until Monday, the conference was told.
The strike was started by the Croatian Railway Workers' Union,
which is one of nine Croatian Railways unions.
