ZAGREB, 28 Nov (Hina) - The Union of Croatian Railways (HZ)
Infrastructure issued a statement Thursday saying it would not join
the strike of the Croatian Union of Railway Workers which started
this morning at 10 a.m. The Union of HZ Infrastructure proposed the
signing of a mini collective agreement which would regulate
disputable issues which caused the strike. #L#
The HZ Infrastructure Central Board decided not to take part
in the strike, since it estimated that the problem could be solved
only through joint negotiations of all unions and the signing of a
mini collective agreement, the statement said.
The agreement would regulate respect for the rights of
employees envisaged by the Croatian Railways Labour Relations by-
laws, the price of labour in 1997 and conditions for the adoption
of a program on the reconstruction of the Croatian Railways.
The Union of HZ Infrastructure proposes a 20%-increase in the
price of labour in 1997 and the payment of a non-recurring
supplement to salaries, which would amount to one average HZ net
salary in 1996.
