The group consists of 36 people of Serb nationality who are
voluntarily returning to Croatia and the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia, under the organization of the UNHCR.
UNHCR obtained the necessary documentation for their return
from the Croatian authorities, and organized bus transport.
The Serb returnees are to enter Croatia via the border
crossing between Croatia and FRY, Bajakovo, and are expected to
arrive in Zagreb by the afternoon, Lisinski said.
The basis for the repatriation of Serb refugees is the reunion
with their families who live in Croatia.
The first such case of repatriation took place in June this
year.
A total of 325 Serb refugees in eight groups have so far
returned to Croatia under the organization of the UNHCR.
The tempo of repatriation at the moment is such that a group
of Serb refugees return to Croatia every month.
Their families then take over the care for the returnees. In
cases of elderly and infirm persons, the UNHCR ensures their
transport to their places of residence, with the cooperation of the
International Committee of the Red Cross, and possible further
care.
