ZENICA, Nov 8 (Hina) - The UN High Commission for Refugees plans to
return 221 Moslem and Croat families to their homes in the
separation zone in the Doboj area of northern Bosnia despite
opposition from local Serb authorities, a UNHCR spokesman said on
Friday.
Members of 221 families will tour their homes next week. They
will not go inside the houses which are currently inhabited and we
will make sure they are vacated in the next five months to make it
possible for their owners to move in, UNHCR spokesman Joaquim
Gonzales Aleman told reporters in the central town of Zenica.
The implementation of the entire programme of return to the
separation zone will depend on the success of this action, he
stressed.
The families will return to the villages of Milkovac,
Makljenovac, Poljice, Sijerina Rijeka, Stanica Rijeka and
Svjetlice.
