BRUSSELS, Nov 20 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian government
delegation for succession to former Yugoslavia, Bozo Marendic, met
in Brussels on Wednesday with international mediator Sir Arthur
Watts, the Croatian mission to the EU said in a statement.
Marendic and Watts exchanged views on the continuation of
negotiations on succession, particularly on the fulfilment of
conditions set by four successor states - Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia - which demanded that the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia, comprising Serbia and Montenegro, make
certain changes in its approach to the succession process.
They agreed that further negotiations should focus on the
preparation of a comprehensive succession agreement and that open
issues should be discussed at a joint session.
The next joint session, scheduled to take place in London on
December 3-4, was expected to conclude a discussion on defining
criteria for state property.
