ZAGREB, 28 Nov (Hina) - The Croatian Union of Railway Workers (SZH) this morning started a strike as no agreement concerning Union's demands was reached during yesterday's talks with the Croatian Railways Administration and today's talks with Zeljko Luzavec, Minister of Transport, Communications and Maritime Affairs. All railway junctions are on strike at the moment, SZH President Zlatko Pavletic told a press conference on Thursday.

All railway junctions are on strike at the moment, SZH President Zlatko Pavletic told a press conference on Thursday. #L# The SZH is on strike alone. Other Croatian railways unions are not taking part in the strike. The SZH gathers some 11,000 members, which makes one half of all Croatian Railways' employees, Pavletic said. Only 20% of trains will travel during the strike. International passenger trains, local border trains, trains for transport of oil derivatives and defence purposes and some other local trains are in service since the beginning of the strike. 'I believe that the strike will not last long and that serious negotiations about our requests will take place', Pavletic said. SZH's main requests concern the signing of a collective agreement and the fulfillment of all obligations from the Croatian Railways Labour Relations by-laws. (hina) rm mm 281532 MET nov 96
