Speaking about proposed items of the agenda, Pavletic stressed
a Government Report on the adoption of 1079 Resolution of the U.N.
Security Council on the extension of the U.N. mandate in eastern
Slavonia. Introductory speeches on this item will be given by
Foreign Minister Mate Granic and Vice Premier Ivica Kostovic.
A discussion will also be held on Croatia's draft state budget
for 1997.
The House of Representatives is also to discuss a Report on
the work of the State Audit Office in 1996 and a Report on
completed audits in 1995. The agenda also includes a package of
bills on tax system.
The House of Representatives will also discuss a bill on the
prevention of conflicts of personal and public interests during the
performance of state officials' duties and a bill on making public
the data concerning the property of public officials.
It is expected that Opposition representatives will change
their decision about not attending Parliament sessions because of
the importance of the topics which are to be discussed at the
session, Pavletic said, adding that only the Croatian Party of
Rights (HSP) has confirmed the attendance.
'There is no need for a new dialogue with the Opposition, I
have already spoken to them earlier', Pavletic said, adding he held
that the topics to be discussed were of so great significance that
it would be hard for Opposition leaders to justify their absence.
