ZAGREB, Nov 18 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Vlatko
Pavletic on Monday called on opposition deputies to attend a House
of Representatives session scheduled for November 27 and
participate in a discussion on a draft 1997 national budget.
Noting that issues related to the budget were very important
for the country, Pavletic called on opposition representatives "to
reconsider their decision not to attend plenary sessions of
parliament for one month."
Pavletic told reporters that parliamentary deputies "have a
duty to present their opinions and proposals and contribute to the
best possible resolution of dilemmas regarding the financial basis
of our activities in the next year."
He said that the entire discussion on the draft budget would
be broadcast live by Croatian television.
