GUANGZHOU, Nov 1 (Hina) - A Croatian Parliament delegation headed by Parliament chairman Vlatko Pavletic on Thursday arrived in the Chinese province of Guangdong for a four-day visit. Pavletic on Friday held talks with the chairman
of the National Congress Standing Committee of the Guangdong province, Zhu Senlin.
GUANGZHOU, Nov 1 (Hina) - A Croatian Parliament delegation headed
by Parliament chairman Vlatko Pavletic on Thursday arrived in the
Chinese province of Guangdong for a four-day visit.
Pavletic on Friday held talks with the chairman of the
National Congress Standing Committee of the Guangdong province, Zhu

Pavletic wished Zhu and Congress officials further economic
successes.
Pavletic informed his hosts about the plans of opening a free
trade zone in Rijeka.
Speaking about successful agriculture, Zhu stressed China's
ability to obtain enough food for the whole populastion, despite
the lack of agricultural land in relation to the overall population
and despite doubts expressed about the issue abroad.
The Croatian delegation on Friday visited a farm which
produces vegetables without land and were informed about the
technology of growing plants from water into which have been added
substances necessary for the growth.
They also visited a developmental-technological zone near
Guanggzhou, the capital of the Guangdong province, in which foreign
and joint companies established with capital from 24 countries
worked.
In talks with the zone officials, the Croatian delegation
expressed interest about the details of issuing working permits in
the zone, ways of taxation and customs clearance, certain laws, the
transfer of profit and other issues.
