MOSTAR, Nov 20 (Hina) - A session of the Herzegovina Canton
Assembly broke up on Wednesday after Croat and Moslem deputies
disagreed on the wording of a cantonal constitution.
The Herzegovina canton is the only canton in the Bosnian
Federation out of ten that has not yet adopted a constitution or
confirmed a county government.
The break-up was called for by Moslem deputies, who said that
different texts had been distributed to Croat and Moslem deputies.
According to Croats, Moslem deputies today expressed
dissatisfaction with 20 articles of the draft constitution, even
though only four articles had emerged as controversial at previous
meetings.
"We hope that the disagreement will be resolved over the next
week," cantonal assembly chairman Ivan Bender and cantonal prefect
Fatima Leho said after the session.
