political and economic interest for cooperating with Croatia, the
same as with all central European countries, and Croatia can act as
a bridge for cooperation," Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
said in Cape Town after his first official visit to South Africa.

"We agreed that a Croatian delegation would be present at a
meeting of the Council for the Development of South Africa which is
to take place in Namibia in February, when diplomatic relations
will be established with a number of south African countries,"
Granic said.
He added that a Croatian business delegation would visit the
South African Republic in March.
Members of the Croatian community in RSA had expressed great
interest for returning to the homeland, and according to available
information, some 200 emigrants had already returned to Croatia,
Granic said.
On his last day of visiting RSA, Granic visited Cape Town
where he briefly met the Premier of Western Cape province, Hernes
Kriel, president of the SA Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee,
Raymond Suttner, Cape Town Mayor Theresa Solomon Alderman and
representatives of the ship-building industry.
