ZAGREB, Nov 13 (Hina) - The Croatian government and unions on
Tuesday reached an agreement on increasing the tax-free part of
salaries and on decreasing salary tax.
The tax-free part of salaries which now amount to 700 kuna
(200 German marks), will rise to 800 kuna (220 marks) from 1
January next year.
From New Year, the tax rate on salaries will drop from 25% to
20 percent. For the part of the salary which exceeds the tax-free
amount times three (2,400 kuna), the taxes will amount to 35
percent.
The agreement was on Tuesday reached among negotiating teams
of the government and Association of Croatian Independent Unions
(SSSH) and Croatian Unions' Association, a statement from the SSSH
said on Wednesday.
The agreement will be signed on November 14.
