MOSTAR, Nov 8 (Hina) - The European Union and its envoy to Mostar
are pleased with a Bosnian Federation Supreme Court ruling which
has rejected an appeal by the Mostar branch of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) party to annul the results of the June 30
local elections, EU spokesman Dragan Gasic said in Mostar on
Friday.
The court ruling had fully clarified the situation and would
contribute to the unobstructed and hopefully successful work of the
city council, Gasic told a news conference.
Gasic rejected accusations that EU special envoy Martin Garrod
had blamed the situation in the town only on one side, the Croats.
He added that the EU strongly condemned not only apartment
evictions in Croat-held west Mostar but also the recent stoning of
nuns in Moslem-controlled east Mostar, as well as all other
incidents.
