VARES, Nov 7 (Hina) - Bosnian Croat representatives from Vares in
central Bosnia (under Moslem control) on Thursday forwarded a
protest letter to the UN high representative Carl Bildt and highest
Bosnian Federation officials because of the destruction of a
Catholic church fence in Vares.
The letter said that Moslem extremists had completely
destroyed the fence of the St. Mihovil church, the oldest Catholic
church in Bosnia-Herzegovina which originated from the beginning of
the eighth century.
The authority and police said and did nothing in such cases of
which there had been several recently, the letter said.
"The only solution for situations like this is the
establishment of legal institutions of power which will be ready to
protect all residents of Vares, whatever their nationality or
religion," the letter said.
