ZAGREB, Nov 2 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Saturday received a delegation of the University of Zagreb, on occasion of the Zagreb University Day, a statement from the Croatian President's Office said.

Saturday received a delegation of the University of Zagreb, on
occasion of the Zagreb University Day, a statement from the

Head of the Zagreb University Marijan Sunjic informed Tudjman
about the drawing up of a long-term strategy for the development of
the University.
Tudjman said the establishment of the Zagreb University was a
part of the development of European modern science, adding that it
was now necessary to establish a development strategy which would
correspond with Croatia's needs.
Present at the meeting were Presidential Chief-of-Staff Ivo
Sanader, Science and Technology Minister Ivica Kostovic,
President's advisors Zeljko Matic, Branko Jeren and Branimir
Jaksic.
The delegation consisted of the president of the University's
board of administrators, Petar Djukan, deputy head of the
University Petar Kraljevic and president of the Expert Council of
Croatian studies, Mirko Valentic, the statement said.
