ZAGREB, Nov 1 (Hina) - A solemn mass was said Friday in front of
the "Wall of Pain" in Zagreb for Croatian citizens who disappeared
during the Homeland War.
Gathered people and members of the centre for the protection
of Croatian detainees' and missing persons' rights, and detainees'
and missing persons' families lit 200 candles in front of the Wall
of Pain for victims found in the mass grave of Ovcara outside
Vukovar.
The Wall of Pain was built in autumn 1993 by families of
missing people in front of the then UNPROFOR headquarters. Bricks
in the wall have names of each person whose whereabouts have been
unknown since the beginning of the Serbian aggression.
Friar Maksimilijan Herceg, who said the solemn mass, blessed
200 candles and a cross made out of flowers, which the families
will carry to the mass grave of Ovcara today.
In line with an agreement between Croatian authorities and the
U.N. Transitional administrator in eastern Slavonia J. Klein,
families can visit the Ovcara mass grave on the All Saints' Day.
