area. #L#
IFOR spokesman in Sarajevo, Simon Haselock, said that Kizley's
order was aimed at making the Serb side start implementing the
program of mine removal in the area.
The IFOR command has informed the Serb side that they would
not be allowed to carry out any military exercises until they start
fulfilling their obligations relating to the mine-clearance
program.
According to military regulations of the Dayton peace
agreement, IFOR commanders are authorised to grant of forbid
activities of military forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Haselock said that such measures would be used whenever it
probed necessary that the former warring parties should be reminded
of the need to fulfill their obligations from the overall mine-
clearance program.
The latest several incidents, in which three civilians had
been killed and several others had been wounded by mine explosions
in unmarked mine fields had stressed the importance of the problem,
Haselock said.
